WHEN DELIVERANCE BEACONS
TEXT: EXODUS. 3: 7-10, 5: 6-12
Ex 3:7-10
7 The Lord said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. 8 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey — the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. 9 And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. 10 So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”
Ex 5:6-12
6 That same day Pharaoh gave this order to the slave drivers and foremen in charge of the people: 7 “You are no longer to supply the people with straw for making bricks; let them go and gather their own straw. 8 But require them to make the same number of bricks as before; don’t reduce the quota. They are lazy; that is why they are crying out, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’ 9 Make the work harder for the men so that they keep working and pay no attention to lies.”
10 Then the slave drivers and the foremen went out and said to the people, “This is what Pharaoh says: ‘I will not give you any more straw. 11 Go and get your own straw wherever you can find it, but your work will not be reduced at all.'” 12 So the people scattered all over Egypt to gather stubble to use for straw.
INTRODUCTION
We on the verge of making history as Nigerians. Indeed, the whole world is waiting for the manifestation of the sons and daughters of God in Nigeria. I doubt there is anyone here who has not heard any prophesy about how much God plans for the country……but it is like some principalities are sitting pretty on the destiny of the nation saying it will never be well with us…………….
The question now is ‘Whose report will you believe…..’ I wish we all can join Ron Kenoly to say- ‘We shall believe the report of the Lord’
His report says I am healed (Do you believe Nigeria is healed))
His report says I am filled (Do you believe Nigeria can still be filled with …?)
His report says I am free (Are you …. free from the oppressors?)
His report says victory (Are you sure we can have victory?)
BODY
Today, deliverance is knocking…..will you open? Will you choose to do all within your power to make God’s will come to pass?
In the passage read, God told Moses that I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering.
Can you believe that God has seen…… our struggles…..
He has heard your cries for help………………..PLS KEEP CRYING ONTO GOD……
And He is very much concerned……………GOD IS INDEED CONCERNED…….but he seem to be waiting for His children to be ready….
Vs 8 says…. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians ……..
NOW NOTE. On the verge of the deliverance of the Children of Israel, Pharaoh decided to increase the burden of the people of God…..no more straw….same work demand…..greater burden………………….. that situation seem similar to ours in Nigeria….. it is like on the verge of every deliverance, taskmasters increase the burden.
- Don’t lose hope, keep your head up and give all glory to God. The battle is of the Lord….He will see us through……
- Just know that the day of deliverance is near
3: 10 So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”
NOTE. The YOU here refers to Moses…TODAY, God is still sending someone.
The question now is, Who is God sending to us? Who? Today we have three main contenders….. (though there are many other pretenders)

- Character….Must fear God, honesty and truthfulness, respect for law, justice and fairness for all. for religious diversities, clean and credible no cult, no involment in drugs no fanaticism

- Competence – quality performance in previous position, good education to manage a complex society
- Capacities. Must be in good health, Sound mind and Physical fitness for the Job
VOTE TO DEFEND YOUR FAITH. VOTE FOR YOUR FAITH
Never forget, if you vote a tyrant in to power, when such a person begins to act true to type…..you are not a victim, you are an accomplice…..those that chose to believe the lies of 2015 and campaigned for and voted for what we have today, they are no victims they are accomplices
CONCLUSION
As the deliverance day beacons, we shall round off this message with a peep into Exodus 12, where we learn some critical lessons for the moment
- Be Obedient. Any other thing will be dangerous. God keeps giving you instructions….follow them……
- Be Expectant: See Vs. 11. Expect a miracle. God will never fail His people
- Be Ready:
Ex 12:11-13
11 This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the Lord’s Passover.
12 “On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn — both men and animals — and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord. 13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.
NIV
10 So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.
In as much as we do not look at any of the main aspirants as a saint or as a messiah, it is evident that we need to get it right this time or the very foundation of the nation Nigeria may be permanently destroyed.
