Inauguration of the Church

New Spring Baptist Church came into being as a fulfilment of the vision that God gave to the Church Pastor of Antioch Baptist Church, Ogbomoso, Rev. Dr. Samuel Oluwale Olajire, sometimes in 2006. The vision was to lead the church to plant three English speaking churches at the outskirt of Ogbomoso town.

New Spring Baptist church, the first of the three churches was planted in the evening of Sunday, 3rd July, 2011, at the building project site of Dr. Ezekiel Ayinde, a member of Antioch Baptist church.

The inauguration service was coordinated by Rev. Samuel Oluwale Olajire. In his sermon, he admonished the assembly on the topic ‘Building A Church of Power’. An exposition was in Ephesians 1:15-23.

One hundred and thirty-three persons were in attendance, with an offering of 8,755.23. To facilitate the take-off of the church, fifty navy-blue plastic chairs and ten Baptist Hymnals were made available by Antioch Baptist Church. [/expand]

More about our History

The assembly met for the first Sunday worship on 10th July, 2011. Beginning with Sunday school at 9:00am which was led by Bro. Wale Alagbe. It was followed by a worship service with admonition entitled ‘Facilitating A Church of Grace’. Reflection was on Philippians 1:1-11 by Deacon A.A. Ayanyinka.

There were thirty-eight persons in attendance with an offering of 15,760.00. The Sunday school department of the church took off with a class on Sunday 10th of July, 2013. On Sunday 14th August, 2011, another class was established. This was facilitated by Bro. Segun Olaoye.

With permission granted by the church council of Antioch Baptist Church, the Sunday school unit of New Spring Baptist Church began to organize preparatory class for her Teachers, on Friday 4th of May, 2012. The preparatory class was held at the residence of late Prof. Fola Alamu. As at December, 2013, average attendance at Sunday morning worship stood at eighty-three.

The church began to meet on Wednesday for Bible study immediately the first Sunday worship begins. Each member participates in possessing the gates of the month prayer meetings at the beginning of every month at Antioch Baptist Church. On January, 2012, the possessing the gate of the month prayer began to take place in new Spring Baptist Church.

On Wednesday 7TH September, 2011, the church members went out on tract evangelistic outreach for the first time.

In the month of March, 2012, Pastor Olubayo Akanmu led church members through teaching during mid-week services of the month, using teaching material titled ‘Evangelism Made Easy‘ prepared by Dr. Duro Ayanrinola.

The essence was to equip church members for the task of labouring towards the growth of the church.

It was reported to the church in council of Antioch Baptist Church on Friday 4th May, 2012, that men of New Spring Baptist Church requested of beginning to have fellowship meeting in respect of MMU.

On Sunday 13th May, 2012, first MMU meeting was held. There were twelve members in attendance. There was an agreement that the meeting be held twice in a month.

The first set of officers were elected for MMU. They were Mr. Sola Adeleye (President), Prince ABC Olagunju (Secretary), and Prof. Fola Alamu (Treasurer). 

The church members continue to give to their maker in spirit and in truth. All the tithe, offering and contribution from weekly service goes to the mother church. The church in council of Antioch Baptist Church met on 7th of October, 2011, recommended that given
from New Spring Baptist Church be designated with proper recording to facilitate the construction of an auditorium for the church. 

In September, 2013, an account was opened in the name of the church. There were three signatories, one from Antioch Baptist Church, two were from New Spring Baptist Church.

On Friday, 5th of August, 2011, it was reported to the Church in Council of Antioch Baptist church the demand from members to have a name for the church. Prayerfully, names were suggested from both members of new church and members from mother church.

At the church in conference meeting of Antioch Baptist church of Friday, 2nd September, 2011, after voting, the assembly chose ‘New Spring Baptist Church’ as the identity of the church. This was one of the names that came from the daughter church. 

On Sunday evening of 22nd January, 2012, discipleship training experience took off in the church. The discipleship materials adopted for study were believers’ handbook, effective fellowship, serve the master, in God’s presence, experiencing God and disciples’ lifestyle.

On Friday 10th February, 2012, adoption of the proposed church building plan was done by the church in council of Antioch Baptist Church. There, it was agreed upon that the children’s section of the project be developed first.

The church in council of the mother church constituted a building committee made up of the following members to oversee the execution of the project: the church Pastor (Antioch), the Pastor (New Spring), the church leader (New Spring), the Antioch Baptist building committee chairman, Mr. Dele Olatunbosun (now Deacon Olatubosun, served as chairman), Pastor Sunday Adegbite, Mr. wale Alagbe, Deacon M.T. Ayantoye.

A sum of One Million Naira was approved for the take-off of the project.

The foundation laying service in respect of the children and teenager’s auditorium of the church came up on the evening of Sunday 18th of March, 2012, on the church permanent site.

The service was conducted by Rev. S.O. Olajire. The charge was on the topic ‘God will fulfil His promise and live among you’. The text was on 1 Kings 6. One hundred and seven people were in attendance.

On Sunday 10th March, 2013, the church has her first Sunday morning worship at its permanent site using children and teenagers’ auditorium. The dedication service was coordinated by Antioch Baptist Church. In his sermon, Rev. S.O. Olajire spoke on the topic “The Church: Becoming the gate of heaven”. Text was taken in Genesis 28:10-22. There were ninety-five persons in attendance. 

On 2nd of March, 2012, report of the church was given to the Church in council of Antioch Baptist Church containing a mission statement for the church.

New Spring Baptist Church adopted a mission statement which was ‘Winning and Developing Lives for Christ’. It was based on Isiah 2:2-4 and Matthew 28:19. This was approved on 2nd of March, 2012.

Deacon Abraham Ayanyinka, and Bro. Sunday Alamu were appointed from inception as the Leader and Associate Leader of the church from 3rd of July, 2011 to 31 December, 2013.

On November, 2011, Pastor Olubayo Akanmu was seconded to New Spring Baptist on a student ministry. He was a final year student of NBTS, Ogbomoso (M.DIV.). Pastor Olubayo Akanmu graduated from NBTS, Ogbomoso on June, 2012. And left as student Pastor of the church.

On Sunday, 17th of June, 2012, Rev. Dr. S.O. Olopade resumed as the first interim Pastor of the church, as directed by church in council of Antioch Baptist Church. His first sermon was titled ‘Created for all good purposes’. An exposition was in Genesis 1:26-30.

Rev. Dr. S.O. Olopade received a call to Orisun Iye Baptist church, Ogbomoso, and resumed on 1st of July, 2013.

On 1st of August, 2013, Pastor Kayode Oke resumed in the church as second interim Pastor of the church, as directed by the church in council of Antioch Baptist church.

On Sunday 22nd of December, 2013, the church in conference of Antioch Baptist Church approved the recommendation submitted by members of New Spring Baptist Church, that Pastor Kayode Oke be the first Resident Pastor of New Spring Baptist Church.

On the 1st January, 2014, Pastor Kayode Oke assumed office as the first full time Pastor of New Spring Baptist Church.

HISTORICAL EVENTS OF THE CHURCH

By Year, since inception

New Spring Baptist church, was planted in the evening of Sunday, 3rd July, 2011, at the building project site of Dr. Ezekiel Ayinde, a member of Antioch Baptist church.

On Sunday, 14th August, 2011, the children’s church of the church took off, under the leadership of Mrs Yemisi Popoola, Mrs Adeola Alagbe, Mrs Funmi Olatunbosun, and Mrs Biola Oke. They started with nine children.

At the church in conference meeting of Antioch Baptist church of Friday, 2nd September, 2011, the assembly chose ‘New Spring Baptist Church’ as the identity of the church. This was one of the names that came from the daughter church.

Pastor Olubayo Akanmu graduated from NBTS, Ogbomoso on June, 2012.

On Sunday, 17th of June, 2012, Rev. Dr. S.O. Olopade resumed as the first interim Pastor of the church, as directed by church in council of Antioch Baptist Church.

His first sermon was titled ‘Created for all good purposes’. An exposition was in Genesis 1:26-30, On Sunday, 17th of June, 2012.

On Sunday 10th March, 2013, the church has her first Sunday morning worship at its permanent site using children and teenagers’ auditorium. On the 1st January, 2014, Pastor Kayode Oke assumed office as the first full time Pastor of New Spring Baptist Church.

The theme for the year 2014 was unveiled by Pastor Kayode Oke. The theme was ‘Moving in the Power of His Might’. Emphasis was on Ephesians 6:10. On 1st January, 2014

Retirement benefits scheme for Pastor Kayode Oke commenced on 1st January, 2014.

The first church in council meeting was held on 10th January, 2014, under the chairmanship of the church Pastor, Pastor Kayode Oke. The devotion was taken from Joshua 3:3-5, entitled ‘follow the leading of the Holy Spirit’.

From the same church in council meeting, it was reported that electrification, plastering of the children section, decoration, ceiling, lovres of the children section were done.

Mr. Segun Olaoye was appointed as the first church secretary, and Mrs Tope Oyelakun as the assistant church secretary.

The first workers retreat was held on 25th January, 2014.

The first student music minister for the church, Pastor Timothy Manya, served from January, to June, 2014, when he graduated from NBTS.

Agreement to open a saving account at Randalpha Microfinance Bank was reached during council meeting of 14th March, 2014.

Pastor Isaac Ojetunmibi, a music minister was called on 11th August, 2014.

Pastor Mark Animisa, a music Minister was posted to NSBC from NBTS for SME on 10th October, 2014.

Decision to build new church auditorium was taken in the church in council meeting of 19th December, 2014.

The first edition of Exemplary Family Award was held on 27th July, 2014. Mr and Mrs Adeleye from NSBC, and Mr and Deaconess J.O. Sangodele from first Baptist church, Oyo were honoured.

The theme for the year 2015 was ‘Total victory in Christ’. The text was taken in John 5:4.

The budget proposal for the year 2015 was #3,998,000. A sum of #528,000 was brought forward from 2014.

On 22nd February, 2015, decision was taken during emergency church in council meeting to procure two plots of land beside new church building. Each of the plots purchased at the rate of #500,000 per plot. This enabled the church auditorium land to six plots altogether.

Agreement to open a Gold Current Account for church building was reached at the church in conference meeting of NSBC, held on 17th May, 2015, with the Access Bank Plc. The three signatories were Mr. Sola Adeleye, Mrs. Sade Ajao, and Dn. O.G. Olupona.

The second edition of Exemplary Family Award was held on 26th July, 2015. The awardee were Dn. and Mrs. O.G. Olupona of NSBC and Mr. and Mrs. Solademi from Ola-Oluwa Baptist Church, Ogbomoso.

The prayer service for 2015 was held and the facilitator was Rev. Dr. Dayo Odesola. The theme was “Total Victory”, text taken from 1John5:4.

Pastor Animisa Mark was posted for SME on 1st June, 2015.

Annual Bible study was facilitated by Pastor Akin Oloyede and the theme was “Habbakuk: Discovery of an unspeakable faith through dialogue with God” by Ola Fadeyi.

Zion alter of praise concert was held in the church auditorium on 22nd March, 2015.

Professorial thanksgiving service was conducted for the family of Prince and Prof. (Mrs.) Funke Olagunjuon 13th June, 2015.

NSBC organization and induction of Pastor Kayode Oke was held on 12th July, 2015 by the mother church, Antioch Baptist Church.

On the 12th July, 2015, the motion to organize the church was moved by the MMU President, Baba Sola Adeleye at exactly 3:45pm which was seconded by WMU President, Mrs. Sade Ajao. The guest speaker was Rev. Dr. Istrael Olubi Olaniyan.

The annual revival was facilitated by Rev. Samson Okediji on the topic” Total Victory “. Text was taken from John5:1-15.

Pastor Sunday Dinyo was posted to NSBC from NBTS as Youth Pastor, on 11th October, 2015.

On November 5th 2015, the church Pastor, Rev. Kayode Oke led the congregation to lay new church auditorium foundation. He delivered a sermon entitled “The sure foundation”. The text was taken from 1 kings 5:17. The following members partook in the foundation laying: Rev. Kayode Oke (The church Pastor), Baba Sola Adeleye as MMU representative, Dn. Omo Olupona as adult representative, and Aanuoluwa Olatunbosun as children representative.

Season of Jubiee concert was held on 27th December, 2015, organized by Mr. and Mrs. Femi Odejobi.

The theme for the year 2016 was “Walking in the Light of His Word”. The text taken from Psalm 119:105-106.

On the 3rd January, 2016, the youth of NSBC launched the church first website. The website is www.newspringbc.comli.com

Annual Bible study organized by Sunday School Department was held between 29th and 23rd march, 2016. The speaker was Pastor Sunday Dinyo.

On 15th May, 2016, during emergency church in council meeting, the committee for exemplenary award was inaugurated. The members were: Mr. Femi Odejobi, Mrs. Tope Oyelakun, Mrs. Ruth Olanrewaju, and Mr. Johnson Olaniran.

On the ………., 2016, family revival was held by Prof. Gbola Ojewola. The topic was “Loving extravagantly: Key to Keeping your Marriage Alive”. Text taken from 1 Thessalonians 1:3, 1 Corinthians 13:1-8.

On 31st July, 2016, church held the third edition of exemplary family award. The awardees were Dn. and Mrs. Olasehinde from Ayegun Baptist Church, Ogbomoso, and Dn. and Mrs. Adetoye from Wnners, Ogbomoso. Rev. Kayode Oke gave the short charge on the topic “Why the fig leaf?”. On 28th August, 2016, ordination service for Pastor Kayode Oke was conducted at Beulah Baptist Centre by 4pm.

Two plots of land were acquired for Pastorium at the rate of #350,000 per plot. Decision for this was taken during the church in council meeting of 3rd June, 2016.

On November 4th, 2016, church in council of NSBC agreed that Mrs. Bose Ayinde should handle the collection of mission due for the church.

On December 19th, 2016, MMU hostel Bethel Association love feast and came third in the contribution to the association.

On 5th August, 2016, church in council of NSBC took a decision to receive Pastor Sunday Dinyo back for SME from NBTS.

On 2nd September, 2016, nomination committee was inaugurated by the church in council. The committee members are: Dn. O.G. Olupona (Chairman), Mrs. Tope Oyelakun (Church Secretary), Mr. Johnson Olaniran (Youth Representative), Dr. Ezekiel Ayinde (MMU President/Representative) Rev. Kayode Oke (Church Pastor), and Mrs. Bola Adelakun (WMU President/Representative).

On 9th October, 2016, Church in conference took a decision during the 3rd quarter of her meeting, to receive Pastor Geoffrey Bok and Pastor Yenesini Gagbe for observation from NBTS.

On 18th December, 2016, there was an emergency church in council, Rev. Kayode Oke was nominated as the Secretary of Christian Council of Nigeria, Ogbomoso North Local Government.

Theme for the year 2017 was “Our Year of Divine Reward”. Text taken from Galatians 6:7-9.

On 6th January, 2017, church in council took a decision to start a yearly programme tagged “Heaven’s Link Praise Concert”.

On 6th January, 2017, church in council took a decision on electrification of the church through prepaid meter.

On 6th January, 2017, church in council nominated Representatives from NSBC for Christian Council of Nigeria. The representatives were Mrs. Ruth Olanrewaju, Mr. Nathaniel Oyekunle, and Mr. Yinka Akanbi.

The church constitution was implemented in the year 2016 but was received by January 2017. The next review of church constitution will be done after five years.

On 29th January, 2017, Spread Commission, a drama ministry from Ilorin, Kwara State, staged a drama in the church auditorium titled “The unthinkable”.

Between 24th -26th February, 2017, NSBC joined Bethel Baptist Association on the evangelistic crusade to Tewure-Iju.

On 12th -15th March, 2017, Sunday School Annual Bible Study was held in the church by Pastor Mrs. Folashade Oloyede. The theme was “Faith of man after God’s Heart”. Text taken from 1 Samuel 17:12-15,45-47.

On 5th May, 2017, the church in council adopted change in Sunday service, that is 8:30-8:55am pre service prayer called Workers’ Prayer and closing of Sunday school by 9:50am.

On 30th July, 2017, the church held fourth edition of Exemplary Family Award. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Adegboyega (Araba) from Antioch Baptist Church was honoured. This was the first time a family would be awarded as only awardee.

On 1st August, 2017, the first edition of Holiday Bible School for Children was organized by Rev. and Rev. Mrs. Oloyede. The theme was “With Jesus, I shall Triumph”.

On 24th -26th September, 2017, prayer revival was held in the church by Rev.  Akinwale Oloyede. The topic was “Say to this Mountain”. Text taken from Matthew 21:18-22.

On 6th October, 2017, church in council took a decision to receive Pastor Yenesini Gagbe, a Music Pastor from NBTS for SME

On 6th October, 2017, three Pastors from NBTS were posted to the church. They were Pastor Lenny Emiantor (Religious Education), Pastor Ebere Obasi (Mission), and Pastor Ali Okpo (Theology).

On 15th October, 2017, the church held the first Elders’ Appreciation Programme. Five elders were appreciated, four from NSBC, and one ABC.

On 7th November, 2017, NSBC hosted Bethel Baptist Association Pastors and wives Fellowship.

On 12th November, 2017, emergency church in council nominated Mrs. Tope Oyelakun as Bethel Baptist Association Auditor.

On 12th November, 2017, emergency church in council nominated Rev. Kayode Oke as the Chairman of Bethel Baptist Association Pastors’ Fellowship.

On 29th December, 2017, the first edition of Heaven’s Link Praise Concert was held. The them was “Glory in the highest”. Text taken from Luke 19:37-40.

The theme for the year 2018 was “The Redeemed Manifesting His Glory”. The text was Isaiah 40:3-5.

On 14th January, 2018, church in conference decided that Uplifter programme committee to assist members who have ideas. The committee were Engr. Kayode Adelakun, Prof. Mrs. Funke Olagunju, and Mr. Samson Ogunremi.

Between 4th-6th February, 2018, prayer revival was held by Rev. Samson Okediji on the topic “Created for God’s Glory. Text taken from Romans 8:13-32.

On 25th February, 2018, the church held sent forth programme for Pastor and Mrs. Ojetunmibi. The sermon was delivered by Rev. Kayode Oke on the topic “Testimony of an Ambassador”. Text taken from Acts 20:17- 22.

On 11th March, 2018, three membered Deacon’s search committee was inaugurated. The committee were Rev. Dr. John Ojo (Chairman), Rev. Mrs. Folasade Oloyede, and Dn. O.G. Olupona. Sermon was delivered by Rev. Dr. Diran Ajao, on the topic “Arise and Eat”. Text taken from 1 Kings 19:2-8.

Between 18th -20th March, 2018, the church Annual Bible Study was held. The Speaker was Rev. Dr. John Ojo, on the theme “Elisha, A True Prophet of God”. Text taken from 1 Kings 19:19-21.

On 31st March, 2018, children department of the church made a visit to Kaysey Home for fellowshio.

On 6th April, 2018, the first baby in the year was given birth to by the family of Mr. and Mrs. Biodun Olaniran.

On 8th April, 2018, Deacon’s nomination forms were distributed according to family members.

On 14th April, 2018, the church hosted Bethel Baptist Association General Meeting. The topic for the first quarter was “Converts and their Challenges”.

On 24th June, 2018, the first set of Deacons and Deaconess were elected. The new Deacons and Deaconess elected were Dn. Dele Olatunbosun (42 votes), Dns. Christianah Oketoobo (52 votes), Dn. Ezekiel Ayinde (53 votes).

On 8th July, 2018, during the 2nd quarter of church in conference, the committee for ordination of first set of Deacons and Deaconess were inaugurated. They were Mr. Johnson Popoola, Mrs. Nia Olupona, and Bola Adelakun.

Between 15th -18th July, 2018, church held her family revival which was anchored by Rev. Dr. Jerry Akinsola. The theme was “Manifesting God’s Glory in Your Home. Text taken from Ruth 1:15-17; Luke 9:57-62.

On 29th July, 2018, the church held her fifth edition of Exemplary Family Award. The Awardees were Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Ojo from NSBC. Rev. Kayode Oke delivered the short charge on the topic “Sweeter by the year”. Text taken from John 2:1-10.

Between 13th -17th August, 2018, the 2nd edition of Holiday Bible School was held. The theme was “With Jesus, I shall Make Nigeria Great”.

On 2nd September, 2018, the church held her first Baptismal service in the church new church building. The baptism was done at the Baptistery of uncompleted new church auditorium building. The first set of Baptismal candidates were Olla Tolulope Taiwo, Adeyi Dorcas Omolola, Blessed-Agboola Jesutobi, Adedokun Ezekiel Adekunle, Adeyi Ezekiel Adekunle, Olla Titilope Kehinde, and Oyelakun Jewel Oyeronke.

On 2nd September, 2018, the first Baptismal candidates were presented to the church by Rev. Kayode Oke. The topic of his sermon was “Do You Truly Believe”. Text taken from John 14:10-11; 1 Corinthians 1:17-18.

On 9th September, 2018, the ordination service for the first set of Deacons and deaconess took place in the church. Rev. John Awoniyi from Jubilee Baptist Church, Ogbomoso delivered the sermon on the topic “A Deacon as Agent of Peace, Stability, Unity in Growth”. Text taken from Acts 6:3-7.

On 7th October, 2018, during the 3rd quarter church in conference, Deacon Ezekiel Ayinde was reported as Chairman of Deacons committee.

On 16th December, 2018, emergency Church in Conference took a decision to receive Pastor Ezekiel Adeyi for observation from NBTS.

On 21st December, 2018, the first Mega Drama Night of Power was held in the church. It was tagged “God still Speaks”. Text taken from Isaiah 50:4-5. It was organized by the Drama Coordinated for the church, Pastor Ezekiel Adeyi.

On 28th December, 2018, the 2nd edition of Heaven’s Link Concert Praise was held in the church. The theme was “Let Us Exalt His Name Together”. Text taken from Psalm 34:3.

The final part of 2018 Fasting and Prayer Sessions was held between 16th and 29th September, 2018. 19th and 26th were for Special Revival Hours which was rounded off with a Prayer Service on 30th September, 2018.

The First Girls Auxiliary Coronation Service was held on 21st October, 2018. The Message was delivered by Mrs Bose Oke and the topic was “Stand Out and Shine” from 1 Timothy 4:12.

Theme for the year 2019 was “Empowered for Exploits”. Text taken from Ephesians 2:4-6.10.

On 17th February, 2019, teenagers fellowship started in the church for the first time. Rev. Dr. Folasade Oloyede welcomed the teenagers into the maiden service. Sermon was delivered by Rev. Akinwale Oloyede with the title “Your Identity and Your Eternity”. Text taken from John 12:42-43. In attendance were 22 teenagers and 3 adults. One of the rooms in the new church auditorium was used.

The Annual Bible Study was held between 17th and 20th March, 2019 by Rev. Akinwale Oloyede. The theme was “Faith In Action: A Study of the Book of James” – James 1:1-8, 5:7-11.

The first All Night Worship Programme was held on 29th March, 2019.

NSBC R. A Inauguration Day, Oke Chapter was held on Sunday 11th August, 2019 in the Church Auditorium. The Fraternity Greetings were done by OBC MMU Chairman, NSBC MMU chairman, National R.A Director, OBC R.A Director, BBA R.A Director and NSBC R.A President. The Examination of R.A members was done by Conference Commandant and decoration of Chapter R.A Honoree by Conference R.A Director

The first Wedding Solemnization was held in the Church Auditorium on 31st August, 2019 between Julianah Omotoyosi Ayansola and Samson Idowu Oladipupo by 10am.

The 3rd edition Elders Appreciation Sunday was held on 20th October, 2019. The message was delivered by Rev. Kayode Oke on the topic “Age: A Single Lane to Eternity” – Joel 2:28; 1 Corinthians 2:9

Annual Revival was held between 2nd and 4th June, 2019. The invited Minister was Bro. Lanre Adeboye from Peace House.

Pastor Seyi Olaniran, a student Pastor from NBTS graduated from Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary on 1st June, 2019.

The Church 8th Anniversary Sunday was held on 7th July, 2019. Rev. Kayode Oke preached on the topic “Do Everything In Love” from 1 Corinthians 16:13-18. There was a message from Antioch Baptist Church which was delivered by ABC Pastor’s representative, Dn Ayantoye and the journey so far was read by Mr Segun Adetutu.

The first Youth Award for Excellence Sunday was held on Sunday 21st July, 2019 and four Awardee were recognized, Oke Kayode Jr from NSBC, Bolu Olagunju from NSBC and two others ……………..

On 26th November, 2019, the Lord the Church with the first set of twins through the family of Mr. and Mrs. Johnson Yemisi Popoola. The naming was done on 3rd of December,

The 2nd edition of Mega Drama Night of Power of NSBC Drama Ministries was held on 15th November, 2019. The theme was “The Little Foxes” – Hebrews 12:1.

The 3rd edition of Heaven’s Link Praise Concert was held on 20th December, 2019 in the Church Auditorium. The theme was “Rejoice, O Earth” – Isaiah 49:13.

Theme for the year 2020 was “Fulfilment of God’s Promises”. Text taken Isaiah 55:11.

The 2nd Baptismal Service was held in the Church Baptistery on the evening of Sunday 16th February, 2020 by 5pm. 4 members were baptized; Faith Olatubosun, Tobi Olalere, Bayo Babarinde and Andrew Olanrewaju.

The Valentine Summer Summit for Teens, Youth and Singles tagged “Correct Connections” was held on Saturday 15th February by 10am – 2pm and Sunday 16th February, 2020 during morning service. The programme was held to mark the 1st year Anniversary of Teenagers’ Church.

The first and 5 years Appreciation Service for Rev. & Mrs Kayode-Bosede Oke holds on Sunday 22nd March, 2020 in the Church Auditorium during morning service. The message was delivered by Rev. Dr Abel Adebamiji from Shiloh Baptist Church and Moderator, Ogbomoso Bethel Baptist Association on the topic “The Commendable Service”- 1 Thessalonians 5:2, 12. The Appreciation Committee were: Mrs Bola Adelakun (Chairperson), Dn Omo Olupona, Dn Ezekiel Ayinde, Mrs Sade Ajao, Mr Segun Adetutu (Secretary), Mrs Tope Oyelakun.

Annual Bible Study was facilitated by Rev, Seyi Oyenibi and the theme was “Unsung Heroes” – Exodus 31:1-6, 35:30-31 between March 15-17, 2020. 

The Church observed Home Cell Fellowship for the first time on 29th March, 2020 due to Coronavirus Pandemic that killed many people in the world. The following Homes were adopted and the service started by 8:30am and ended by 9:30am: Ajao Oyedirans, Ezekiel Ayindes, Oketoobos, Nathaniel Oyekunles, Tunde Oyelakuns, ABC Olagunjus, Kayode Adelakuns, Sola Adeleyes. The Message by Rev. Kayode Oke and Health Talk by Dr Omo Olupona at the Pastorium was uploaded on YouTube while the links was shared on the Church’s WhatsApp & Facebook pages.

The Church observed Bible Study & Possessing the Gates of the Month of April Prayer online on 1st April, 2020 and members of the church participated actively. The topic for the Bible Study was “Look Up and Lift Up” from Luke 21:25-28 by Rev. Kayode Oke.

The Church also observed Council meeting online for the first time on 3rd April, 2020 and members were actively participated.

The first Wedding Solemnization during Coronavirus Pandemic took place on 16th May, 2020 between Funmilola Oke & Abimbola Falabi by 8am. The joining was done by Rev. Akinwale Oloyede. Rev. Isaiah Durosawo from Obandi Baptist Church, Ogbomoso delivered the message on the topic: “Stay Away from Falsehood” – The reception took place at the Pastorium inform of take away.

The second Wedding Solemnization during Coronavirus Pandemic took place on 13th June, 2020 between Boluwatife Adenike & Oluwabusayo Peter by 9am. The joining was done by Rev. Kayode Oke. Rev. Akinwale Oloyede from New Spring Baptist Church, Ogbomoso delivered the message on the topic: “Oneness: The Greatest Asset in Marriage” – Amos 3:3, Ephesians 5:31. The reception took place at the bride’s father’s house, Prince Villa, Ayedaade Area, Ogbomoso.

The meeting in response to the new protocols on Worship after the Church was opened was held on Wednesday 17th June, 2020 at the church Auditorium by 5:30pm and the church after several deliberations agreed that cell fellowship should be maintained pending the time the ban upon churches would be totally lifted.

The last cell fellowship was held on 28th June, 2020.

NSBC reopened after the Coronavirus Pandemic lockdown on Wednesday 1st July, 2020 with Possessing the Gates of the Month of July prayer in the Church Auditorium by 5pm and the new protocol on Sunday worship was introduced with the church having 2 services; first service between 8:00 – 9:30am and second service between 10:00 – 11:30am.

The first Teenagers’s Parents meeting was held on Sunday 20th September, 2020. The meeting started at 5:00pm with opening prayer by Pst. Timothy Oguzie and praises led by Mrs Damilola Olabode. Rev. Akinwale Oloyede welcomed the parents and shared the objectives of the fellowship while the Church Pastor, Rev. Kayode Oke gave the opening remarks. The scripture for the programme was taken from Genesis 18:18-19 and Malachi 2:15. Rev Mrs Folashade Oloyede coordinated the section in which the teenagers’ parents introduced themselves – 3 of whom are not church members. They later shared their experiences with the teenagers. Dn OmoOlorun Olupona also shared timely insights on how to raise godly teens in this contemporary time while prayers were offered for the teens after the various contributions. The meeting was concluded around 6:40pm.

Rev. Dr Diran Ajao who was a member of the church and History Committee Chairman died on 19th November, 2020 after brief illness. He was buried on 4th December, 2020 in the main Church Auditorium by 11am. 

The 4th edition of Heaven’s Link Praise Concert was held on 18th December, 2020 in the Church Auditorium. The theme was “Let Everything That Has Breath…. from Psalm 150:6”

The tenure of Mr Segun Adetutu, the Church Secretary and Mr Nathaiel Oyekunle, the Assistant Church Secretary ended and Mr Sayo Okediji was nominated as the Church Secretary and Bro Johnson Olaniran as Assistant Church Secretary during the meeting of Nominating Committee for Workers 2021.

Theme for the year 2021 was “Living as Partakers of the Divine Nature”. Text taken from 2 Peter 1: 3 & 4.

NSBC 2nd Baptismal Service was held in the new church auditorium on Sunday 31st January, 2021 by 4;30pm. The following members were baptized: Adebayo Babarinde, Tobi Olalere, Andrew Olanrewaju _____

Teenagers correct connection Season II was held on Saturday 13th February, 2021 in the church auditorium by 10am – 2pm.

Stewardship Revival programme was held between Sunday 21st – Wednesday 24th February, 2021. Rev. Taiwo Opajobi from Lautech Baptist Church, Ogbomoso led the revival on the titled “He Owns Them All” from Genesis 1:1&2, Psalm 24:1&2

NSBC Annual Bible Study was held between 21st – 23rd March, 2021 in the church auditorium. It was led by  Rev. Dr Olalekan Fatiloro from NSBC on the topic “Man in the Image of God” – Genesis 1:26 & 27, Psalm 8.

NSBC 2nd Stewardship Revival was held between Sunday 19th – Wednesday 22nd September, 2021. Rev Dr Deji Adisa led the revival on the topic “Living As Partakers of the Divine Nature” – 2 Peter 1:3-4.

The formal dedication of the church borehole came on Sunday 3rd October, 2021 during morning service.

NSBC organized the first Community Hymn Singing programme on Friday 2nd April, 2021 at Baale Yaku junction.

NSBC hosted the Bible Society of Nigeria, Ayedaade Auxiliary on Tuesday 11th May, 2021 by 5pm.

Young Couples Fellowship was organized in the church by Rev. Dr & Rev. Dr Mrs Oloyede on Sunday 13th June, 2021 for all young couples whose marriage is less than 5 years.

Sent-forth programme for Pst & Pst Mrs Akinyemi of children department was held on Sunday 27th June, 2021 during morning service.

NSBC 10th year Anniversary programme was held in the church auditorium between Friday 2nd – Sunday 4th July, 2021. Rev. Dr Segun Babalola from Glad Tiding Baptist Church led the Friday session. On Saturday session, there was medical check up of Blood Pressure and Hepatitis B check. On Sunday session, Rev. Wale Olajire, the visioner and Antioch Baptist Church pastor ministered .

NSBC Dram ministry Annual Dram Night of Power was held on Friday 22nd October, 2021 tagged “Sharpened Arrow” – Isaiah 49:1-6.

Global Leadership Summit (GLS),an international programme designed to train Christian leaders was held in the church auditorium between 20th & 21st November, 2021. The programme was brought into the church by Rev. Dr & Rev. Dr Mrs Oloyede.

The Great Company Teens Rally was held on Saturday 4th December, 2021 at the Seminary Chapel between 9:30am & 4:30pm.

Heaven’s Link Praise Concert Season 5 was held together with Christmas Carol on Friday 17th December, 2021 in the main auditorium by 5pm. The theme of the Christmas Carol was “And His Glory Shall Be Revealed” – Isaiah 40:1-11 while the theme of HLPC was “I will Sing Unto The Lord” –

The first Family Meeting for the year was held on 27th February, 2022

Teenagers’ Correct Connections Season III was held on Saturday 12th February, 2022 between 9:30am and 1pm.

NSBC hosted Bible Society of Nigeria, Ayedaade Auxiliary on Monday 14th February, 2022.

2022 Annual Bible Study was held between 20th March and 22nd March, 2022. Rev. Samson Okesola from Redeemer Baptist Church, Ogbomoso ministered for the Bible Study.

The Induction Service of the Church Music Minister, Pastor Oluwaseun Olabode was held on Sunday 3rd April, 2022 during morning service. The message was delivered by Rev, Dr Samuel Auda from Music department of NBTS. The induction was conducted by the Association Moderator, Rev. Dr Abel Adebamiji.

NSBC celebrated 11th year Anniversary on Sunday 3rd July, 2022. The message was delivered by Rev. Kayode Oke titled “The Unspeakable Joy of the Lord” from Romans 12:9-13, Philippians 4:4.

The 70th Birthday celebration of Dn Omo Olupona in conjunction with donation towards the new church auditorium was held on Saturday 9th July, 2022 in the church auditorium. Rev. Kayode Oke delivered the message on the topic: “If This Gabriel Could, then You Can” – Psalm 90:12; Romans 5:17.

The roofing of the Church New Auditorium with galvanized pipe was done on September 13, 2022 and estimated sum of #5,824,004.59 (Five Million, eight hundred and twenty-four thousand, four naira and fifty-nine kobo only) was used.

The first Afro – Praise Sunday holds in the new Church Auditorium on Sunday 18th September, 2022. An Apala Gospel Musician, Yomi Apala and his Apala team from Ogbomoso were invited and they ministered. Rev. Kayode Oke ministered on the topic “Sing A new song unto the Lord”- Psalms 96:1-5

On Saturday 18th October, 2022, NSBC hosted 3rd Quarterly General Meeting of Ogbomoso Bethel Baptist Association. Topic for 3rd quarter was Disciple as A Steward of Possession. Rev. Segun Babalola was the guest Speaker and Rev. Dr. A. O. Adebamiji was the Association Moderator.

The family of Mr & Mrs Oyewole and Mr & Mrs Babarinde were blessed with bouncing baby girl & boy respectively in a week. Mr & Mrs Oyewole on 27th September, 2022 and Mr & Mrs Babarinde on 30th September, 2022. The Naming ceremony of the two bouncing baby girl and boy took place in the same week on 4th October and 7th October, 2022

The first dedication of two babies in the church from the family of Oyewoles and Babarindes took place on Sunday 31st October, 2022

2022 Family Revival took place between Sunday 13th and Wednesday 16th November, 2022 in the Church Auditorium. The Revivalist was Rev.  & Dr Mrs Ademola Nike Falade from Agbowo Baptist Church, Ibadan now El-Shaddai Baptist Church. The theme was: Connecting God’s Word With Our Homes – Matthew 7:24-27.  

The Youth Fellowship held her first Dinner and awards Night on December 29th.

And on December 30, our 2022 Heaven’s Link Praise Concert took place, with the Theme: Sacrifices of Praise.

Theme for the year 2023 was “Yoked Together with Christ”. Text taken from Luke 9:23.

 

Teenagers’ Correct Connections Season IV was held on Saturday 11th February, 2022 between 10am and 1pm.

 

Workers’ Retreat was held on 28th February, 2023 in the Church Auditorium.

 

NSBC’s first-ever SPORTS OUTREACH was held on Tuesday14th, Thursday 16th and Friday 17th March 2023 in the Church premises. Pastor Paul Adeoye was the organizer of the programme under the Outreach Ministry committee of the church. The competition for the games of only Table Tennis and Badminton were participated and other games like Ludo, Ayo-Opon and Dart were available for relaxation. The Grand finale took place on Friday 17th March, 2022 and Mr Samson Adedosu from NSBC took first position in Table Tennis, Bro. Oyarinde Damola (2nd) – Caretaker BC, Rev. Adewuyi S.A. (3rd) – Halleluyah BC. Bro. Abraham Ajala Joshua from NSBC took 1st Position in Badminton, Mr Adesoji Kehinde (2nd) – NSBC and Bro. Olagoke Abraham (3rd) – Blessed BC.

 

2023 Annual Bible Study was held between 19th March and 21st March, 2023. Rev. Dr Shina Abegunde from Higher Ground Baptist Church, Ogbomoso ministered for the Bible Study.

 

NSBC Youths under the leadership of Kayode Jr Oke launched new Website Address for the church on Sunday 26th March, 2023 during the morning service. The Website Address is www.newspringbc.com.ng.

 

Our POSSESSING THE GATES OF THE MONTH PRAYERS was changed to COVENANT HOUR OF PRAYERS and the very first came up on Saturday 1st April, 2023 by 7:30pm in the Church Auditorium.

 

The first Movie Night programme organized for Teenagers comes up on Sunday 9th April, 2023 in the Church Auditorium by 4pm.

 

First Talent show organized by Youth under the leadership of Kayode Oke Jr for Teenagers was held on Wednesday 19th April, 2023. The Screening exercise was held on Sunday evening by 4pm. 

 

Rev. Kayode Oke bagged Doctorate degree in Ministry at Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso on Thursday 4th of May, 2023 which made him to be addressed as Rev. Dr.

 

NSBC worshipped under roofed of the New Auditorium on 21st May, 2023. Rev. Dr Kayode Oke, the church Pastor delivered a message titled, Great, Glorious and Gracious God from the book of Psalm 114:1-8 while the Building Chairman, Dn OmoOlorun Olupona addressed the congregation on Then, What is Next?

 

3 – man committee was set up for Deacon’s Search Committee in the 2nd Quarter Church-in-conference meeting on 9th July, 2023. The 3-man committee include: Dn Omo Olupona (Chairman), Rev. Dr Akinwale Oloyede and Mrs Ruth Olanrewaju. 

 

On 24th September, 2023, 6 members of the church were presented to the church for the post of deacon by Deacon’s Search Committee, The Six members include: OLASUNMBO Dele Olatubosun, (for re-run election), ADEDOSU Samson Adesola, ADELAKUN Mobolape Olufunke, ODIASE Oluwatoyin Busola, OKEDIJI Matthew Olusayo and KEHINDE Adesoji Tunde  

 

On 1st October, 2023, election of new set of deacons and re-run election took place in the church auditorium. 160 names on the Membership list were eligible to vote. 83 were present in church physically and two absentee ballots by email making a total of 85 members cast their votes. Dn Olasunmbo Dele Olatubosun scored 63 “Yes” votes, 21 “No’ votes and one abstention. In the second category of voting, the following were the results: ADEDOSU Samson Adesola 39 votes, ADELAKUN Mobolape Olufunke 49 votes, KEHINDE Adesoji Tunde 43 votes, ODIASE Oluwatoyin Busola 45 votes and OKEDIJI Matthew Olusayo 69 votes. In this category there were 3 invalid ballots (over voting). Therefore, Dn OLATUBOSUN, OD was re-elected for another 5-year and final term while Tpl OKEDIJI M.O., ADELAKUN M.O. and ODIASE O.B. were elected for their first 5-year term.

 

Pa Adesola Emmanuel Adeleye answered the call of his father on Thursday, 19th October, 2023 after he lived for 73 years. 

 

Work on the Installation of window frames and 9 doors started on Thursday 26th October, 2023. Scaffolds outside and inside the building were already in place for most of the areas.

Two side doors were opened for our use on 11th November, 2023. 

 

The commendation service organized by the church in honour of late Pa Adesola Emmanuel Adeleye took place on Wednesday 29th of November, 2023 in the church auditorium by 4pm. 

Service of songs for Baba Sola Adeleye took place on Friday 1st of December, 2023 and the burial ceremony took place in the church auditorium on 2nd December, 2023 by 10am. 

 

As at 31st December, 2023, plastering wall of the inside of the Auditorium has completed. 

 

Heaven’s Link Praise Concert (season 7) was held on Friday 29th December, 2023 and the theme is Unlimited Praise. Text: Psalm 150.

 

Walking for Christ from Outreach department of the church took place on 21st December, 2023 and the church members took up by 4:30pm with trek and distribution of tract to share the good news of Christ from the church premises to Restore area through Ayedaade back to church.

 

The Ordination for Second set of Deacons and Deaconess, Dns Mobolape Adelakun, Dn Olusayo Okediji and Dns Oluwatoyin Odiase and Appreciation of 1st set of Deacons and Deaconess was held on Saturday 30th December, 2023 in the new auditorium by 3pm. The speaker was Rev. Dr Folashade Oloyede from New Spring Baptist Church, Ogbomoso and she delivered the message titled “Lessons from the Early Church” – Acts 6:1-10; 8:4-8. The programme was also witnessed by Moderator, Ogbomoso Bethel Baptist Association, Rev. Dr Abel Adebamiji.
